Prepare to be dazzled by the remarkable achievements of CSVPA students at this year’s Graduate Fashion Week (GFW) 2023! As the largest platform for showcasing graduate fashion worldwide, GFW draws in many influential guests and recruiters who eagerly anticipate the emergence of extraordinary talent across 26 diverse fashion disciplines.
Set against the backdrop of the coveted Truman Brewery on Brick Lane, GFW is launched by the esteemed Graduate Fashion Foundation, which boasts an impressive roster of notable alumni, including Christopher Bailey MBE, Stella McCartney, and Julien MacDonald, who have made indelible marks on the global fashion stage.
However, CSVPA’s exceptional accomplishments this year truly steal the spotlight. We are thrilled to announce that our students have clinched an incredible total of five awards at GFW, with four impressive winners in the highly esteemed Vivienne (Westwood) Foundation Competition! The pieces crafted by CSVPA students were hailed as “outstanding,” “professional,” and “beautiful” by leading industry experts, leaving an indelible impression.
In a competition featuring 68 renowned institutions and approximately 3000 students, witnessing CSVPA students receive such well-deserved recognition and acclaim for their exceptional work is undeniably a monumental triumph.
Their extraordinary talent was acknowledged through the following awards:
- Temujin Blakeway: Winner of Fashion Photography
- Sophie Wheeler: Highly Commended in Zandra Rhodes Textiles
- Charlotte Lamb: Highly Commended in Considered Fashion
- Charlotte Lamb, Sophie Wheeler, Fabia Longjohn, Hannah Blunt: Winners of the Vivienne Foundation Award
- Charlotte Lamb, Lydia Gao: Winners of the Collective Show and selected for the prestigious Best of Show Gala, beating over 400 collections.
On top of the awards presented, many CSVPA students were invited for interviews with esteemed organizations such as Inditex, Next, and JCA, among others. This experience served as a fantastic opportunity for the students and marked the beginning of their journeys into the fashion industry.
