Acting (1-2 weeks)
In the first week, professional actors will lead you through drama exercises designed to help develop creativity, spontaneity, freedom and authenticity in performance. In the second week, we will work together as an ensemble to rehearse a short production, performed for an invited audience at the end of the course.

BROADEN YOUR SKILLS IN THE INDUSTRY
Through research, intensive tuition, rehearsals and a final performance, you will become acquainted with the skills and knowledge that will serve as a perfect starting point for future education. Throughout the course you will become familiar with acting, voice, movement, improvisation and ensemble work.
PROGRESSION AT CSVPA
Completion of the course can enable progression on to our Extended Diploma or Foundation Diploma courses, awarded by University of the Arts London Awarding Body (if you meet the UAL entry criteria for the course).
PRACTICE YOUR ENGLISH LANGUAGE SKILLS
This course is taught in English, and students are asked to communicate with each other in English, giving our international students the perfect opportunity to practice their English speaking, listening, writing and reading skills.
COURSE OUTCOMES
You will gain an understanding of basic acting techniques.
You will experience working as part of an ensemble and developing the skills of playfulness, improvisation and devising.
You will understand a range of activities in developing and delivering a performance.
At the end of the course, you will have the opportunity to perform in front of your fellow Summer School students.

Who is it for
The course is aimed at any student aged 14 to 18 years who is interested in performing and developing their acting skills. Completion of the course can enable progression on to our University of the Arts London Awarding Body Extended Diploma or Foundation Diploma courses,

Minimum English standard: International students should have at least an Upper Intermediate – Advanced level of English
